Common Purpose at Living Well Partnership

We were delighted to hear from the team at Living Well Partnership, Southampton, who rightly wanted to share the success they’re enjoying with their action-packed programme for patients who need a bit of encouragement and support. It’s a year or two since our work with the team came to a close and it’s fantastic to know that the collaborative approach we supported them to develop has grown and matured in such an impactful way.

In this wonderful video you can hear about how they bring people together for some fun, sociable activities.

It doesn’t matter what stage you’re at, we’re all here with a common purpose

Participants describe how the programme has “forced me into action - but in a nice, gentle way”. Everybody is given “a really warm welcome, cups of tea and a biscuit and hopefully some really good conversations with other people.”

But it’s not all about chit chat - the group plays games, goes for walks, undertakes some gentle group exercise but most of all enjoys each others’ company. As you’ll hear in the video, it’s about “talking to other people, knowing that what you’re feeling, other people are feeling too” and that “we’ve all got our own problems but a problem shared is a problem halved.”

Well done team, this is wonderful work!
